Appleby Moustaches Raise $5,914 For BCHS
Appleby participants raised $5,914 for the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre during the annual ‘Movember’ challenge.
The Centre sets the month-long challenge every year encouraging ‘Mo Bros’ to sign up and grow their moustache for 30 days in November. ‘Mo Sistas’ can sign up to support the men in their lives while promoting men’s health within their community.
The moustache represents the “ribbon” of the movement for raising awareness and generating conversations about men’s health. The campaign has been run by the Centre for 5 years to encourage prevention and awareness programmes. This year, Appleby matched the donation amount raised by the Appleby Mo Bros to show their support of the programme.

“We are pleased to be involved with such an important movement within our community,” said Timothy Faries, Appleby Bermuda Managing Partner.
“Even though Movember is only a month long, we must remember the importance of the charity and understand that health is a daily priority. We want to do our part to raise awareness about cancer risks for men and are happy to donate to the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre initiative.”
The funds raised help the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre with its work in engaging in the prevention and detection of cancer and other health concerns in the local community.
This year the support will be focused on Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre’s Radiation Therapy Initiative as well as other Men’s Health Programmes including the Annual Men’s Health Screening Clinic.
