Court: Man Charged With Supplying Fentanyl

Appearing in Magistrates Court today [Jan 23] a 33-year-old man was charged with conspiring with others to supply Fentanyl, a synthetic opioid.

Pembroke resident Maurice Martin, who was said to be a Jamaican national, was not required to enter a plea as the charge that faced was deemed to be indictable and must be tried in the Supreme Court.

The charge was that he conspired with others to supply the illegal substance Fentanyl.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo set bail at $150,000; required a surety; ordered Martin to surrender his passport and not leave Bermuda without the Court’s permission; and report every day to the Hamilton Police Station.

The Magistrate ordered that Martin appear at the March 1st Arraignments Session of the Supreme Court.
