“Student counselor and EducationUSA Advisor Mrs. Janea Mallory will also be there assisting those who are interested. Please call 239-4018 to confirm attendance.

“The U.S. Department of State oversees these exchange programs, which provide opportunities for students pursuing certificates or degrees at an academic institution and recent graduates, to work in a wide range of fields while also providing exposure to American culture and travel opportunities.

“Participants in these exchange programs work as camp counselors, au pairs, interns, or in fields such as the hospitality industry or at theme parks around the country.

“Work/study programs are operated by numerous organizations in the United States that promote educational travel. Each program seeks to introduce young people from abroad to American culture.

“These organizations are responsible for job placements and provide advice on visas, housing, and other program issues; fees for these services are charged and vary from organization to organization.

“Each organization is vetted by and overseen by the Department of State to ensure participants’ health, welfare and safety through government-mandated regulations.”
