Govt: Bus & Ferry Services Operating As Normal

February 10, 2017

Bus and ferry services are operating per their normal schedules today [Feb 10], the Ministry has confirmed.

A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Tourism and Transport is advising the public that bus and ferry services are operating per their normal schedules today.”

The follows after the Government advised at 6am this morning that “there may be a disruption in public services due to a union meeting which has been called for this morning.”

Some people did gather at Union Square this morning, with BIU President Chris Furbert saying that the OBA MPs were in the House of Assembly at 5.00am, and advising his members to “go back to work.”

Police, who had been maintaining a presence at the House of Assembly, removed barricades at the House of Assembly later this morning, and today’s House of Assembly session got underway.

After having been previously delayed, the debate on the Airport Development Concession Act 2016 and the Bermuda Airport Authority Act 2016 is scheduled to take place at the House of Assembly today.
