Two Crew Members Disembarking In Bermuda

The vessel SFL Medway is disembarking two crew members – one who suffered a head injury and one with fever like symptoms.- to Bermuda in order to receive medical attention.

A Bermuda Maritime Operations spokesperson said, “Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre is currently coordinating the medical evacuation of two crew members from the Hong Kong registered bulk carrier, ‘SFL Medway’.

“On Tuesday 21st February, the Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre was advised that the 22656 GRT Bulk Carrier, ‘SFL Medway’, was inbound to Bermuda to disembark two crew members, one who had suffered a head injury and the other who had fever like symptoms.

“Following medical advice from shore and continued treatment onboard, the vessel was advised to make best speed towards Bermuda.

“SFL Medway, then 571 miles northeast of Bermuda, had departed Gibraltar bound for Mobile, Alabama.

“Both patients will be disembarked by Pilot boat St. George tomorrow afternoon, and taken by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.”
