BSSF Senior School Track & Field Qualifiers
The Bermuda School Sports Federation [BSSF] held the Senior School Preliminaries at the National Sports Center, with a new record established.
Brianna Mendes rewrote the record books during the Over 16 Girls 3000 Meter Run when she was clocked at 11:40.42 representing the Bermuda High School. Lynsey Palmer from Saltus Grammar School was second clocking 11:48.14 and Laura Hope also from Saltus Grammar School finished third with a time of 12:35.45.
The Under 16 Girls 400 Meter Run Preliminary was won by Taylor Hines from the Bermuda High School with a time of 1:03.71, Destani Warner from the Berkeley Institute was second in 1:05.75 and Kayla Raymond from Mount Saint Agnes Academy finished third clocking a time of 1:06.61.
Clevonte Lodge won the Under 16 Boys 100 Meter Preliminaries representing the Berkeley Institute stopping the clock in 11.55, Macki Gittens also from the Berkeley Institute was second in 12.25 and Chaz Trott from the Somersfield Academy was third in 12.00.
The Over 16 Boys 3000 Meter Run was won by Johndell Cumberbatch from Saltus Grammar School with a time of 10:09.84, Robert Edwards from the Berkeley Institute was second in 10:17.31 and Kaden Hopkins finished third with a time of 10:23.87 representing Saltus Grammar School.
