Free Seminar On Saving, Budgeting, Investment
People will be able to get expert free advice on saving and budgeting as well as investments during a free seminar, as on Thursday [April 27] Colonial Pension Services will host ‘It’s Your Future … and Your Now’ at the Hamilton Princess.
Laurie Daniels, Customer Service Manager with Colonial Pensions Services Limited, said: “Research shows that amongst the 18 to 34 year olds in the US, 70 percent have savings of $1,000 or less. I think the statistics in Bermuda would reflect a similar pattern.
“Yet saving and investing for the future are some of the most important things we can do. I’m sure most people have a retirement bucket list that they want to get through.
“In particular, it is important for younger people to think about their future. It may seem a long way away, but retirement comes around very quickly indeed.”
The seminar will focus on investment and financial planning advice as well as saving and budgeting tips. The emphasis will be on starting saving early [for those under 40], although all ages are welcome to attend. There will also be a presentation from the Vanguard Group.
Mrs Daniels added: “Many people will read this and say, ‘how can I possibly spare more money to save?’ But, with some easy budgeting tips it is possible to put money away for the future.”
The seminar takes place on Thursday, from 6 pm to 8pm in the Trudeau Ballroom at the Hamilton Princess. There will be information as well as entertainment, prizes, and refreshments. Parents can also bring their children if needed as there will be a special Children’s Corner.
