LOM Financial Appoints Independent Directors
At a meeting of the Board of Directors of LOM Financial held on 28th July 2017, Robert J. Cooney and Dennis G. Tucker were appointed as independent directors of the Company. They will also serve on the boards of the Company’s three Bermuda regulated subsidiaries.
“Mr. Cooney has a long, accomplished career in the Bermuda re-insurance industry, having served in the past as President and CEO of both XL Insurance and as the founder of Max Capital [which was subsequently merged with Harbour Point to form Alterra Capital Holdings and then bought by Markel Corp],” the company said.
“He currently is the managing director of Auréo Capital Ltd Mr. Tucker has had a distinguished career within the Bermuda hotel industry, as well as serving in important public and charitable roles. He currently serves as a Councillor for the City of Hamilton, as a Commissioner with the Bermuda Casino Gaming Commission, and as CEO and Secretary to the Board of Trustees of the Hotel Pension Trust Fund.
“Other past positions include Managing Director of the Sonesta Beach Resort and serving in the Bermuda Senate. He is a board member of the Bank of Bermuda Foundation, Bermuda’s largest philanthropic organization.”
LOM Financial Chairman and CEO Scott Lines said, “I am very pleased to welcome Bob and Dennis to the LOM Board. They bring many years of financial and senior management experience to the organization and the LOM management team and the rest of the Board of Directors look forward working with them and having their guidance and knowledge contribute to the growth of the Company.”
At the same meeting, Quinton L. Edness, CBE, JP, retired as a director of the Company, after 11 years in the position.
Mr. Lines stated, “On behalf of the Board I would like to thank Quinton very much for his constant efforts for the Board and his long record of service and dedication. We wish him very well in his much deserved retirement.”
