[Updated with results] The Bermuda Motorcycle Racing Club held their annual ‘Wheelie Wars’ competition today [Sept 17] at the Motorsports Park in Southside, St. David’s.

The event featured three stages — Longest Wheelie, Slowest Wheelie and Freestyle Wheelie — with $500 cash & other prizes up for grabs. Sponsors for the day included RUBiS Bermuda, Added Speed & Accessories, Wett & Wild Water Service and Aries Sports Center.

Update 11.37pm: A BMRC spokesperson said, “Wheelie Wars III became the highlight of the day with a large crowd turning up to see the best of the island’s stunt talent taking to the track.

“Competitors had to earn the highest points across three categories: Longest Wheelie, Slowest Wheelie, and Freestyle. Joshua Giraud won two out of three categories and walked away with the $500 cash pot.

“Dre Outerbridge placed second overall and won top points for the longest wheelie which had to be held for the entire straight stretch of the raceway and completed in the fastest time. He took home a $50 Added Speed Voucher along with one free class of his choice from Aries Sports Center.

“Colours Wolffe held the third place overall position by stacking up top points in both the slowest and freestyle categories. He walked away with a $50 RUBiS voucher. RUBiS Bermuda further sponsored all winners in the individual Wheelie Wars categories.”
