Steven Napier Joins EY Bermuda TAS Practice
EY Bermuda Ltd. announced that Steven Napier has joined its Transaction Advisory Services [TAS] practice as an executive director in the Hamilton, Bermuda office.
In this role, he will oversee valuation and business modeling for Bahamas, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands and Cayman Islands, leading engagements related to the valuation of businesses, equity and debt interests, as well as various intangible assets and intellectual property.
His expertise includes purchase price allocation, goodwill impairment, corporate strategic and tax planning, corporate transactions [e.g., mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, recapitalizations], litigation and arbitration.
“The addition of Steven to our team will allow us to differentiate ourselves across the region and give us robust capabilities in the areas of valuations and business modeling for banks, insurers, hedge funds and private equity firms,” said Dan Scott, regional managing partner at EY.
“To have a local point of contact, with deep experience, fully focused on valuation and business modeling, gives our clients in the market something that others cannot offer. This kind of work has traditionally been done in the region on an ad hoc basis, and off-island.” Added Keiran Hutchinson, TAS leader for the region.
Previously, Napier was a partner in EY’s US firm for over twenty years. Most recently, he served in EY’s New York office as private equity leader for the Valuations and Business Modeling practice. Prior to returning to New York in 2010, he was the valuation and business modeling market leader in Miami, and also served as the market leader in San Francisco.
Napier joined Ernst & Young in 1994, and has held various consulting industry positions in New York, Kuwait City, Washington, DC and Dallas over the course of his career. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance and real estate, and a master’s degree in taxation, both from Baylor University.
Napier holds several professional credentials including ASA, ABV, CMA, CPA and CDBV. He has also served in various capacities in each of the major valuation professional organizations – RICS, where is a fellow, ASA and AICPA.
