MarketPlace Proactively Implementing Plans
The MarketPlace said they have “proactively implemented comprehensive plans to safeguard its operations and customer service in light of a potential strike by the International Longshoremen’s Association [ILA].”
A spokesperson said, “The strike, which could affect shipping from the Port Elizabeth terminal in New Jersey to Bermuda, is set to begin on October 1st if a labor agreement is not reached.”
“We have been closely monitoring this situation for many months and have implemented robust contingency plans,” said Seth Stutzman, President of The MarketPlace. “Our proactive approach ensures that we are fully prepared to maintain uninterrupted service across all our stores. We are committed to keeping our shelves stocked with fresh produce and essential items, minimizing any potential disruption to our valued customers throughout Bermuda.”
Mr. Stutzman continued, “The MarketPlace has successfully navigated challenging times before, such as during the Covid-19 pandemic. Just as we persevered then, we are confident in our ability to manage through this potential disruption. Our team is working tirelessly not only to maintain our supply chain but also to keep prices as low as possible for our customers, despite rising costs globally.”
“We are grateful for the cooperation and hard work of all our partners during this time. This includes the local shipping lines, freight services, stevedores, and both local and overseas wholesalers. We also want to express our gratitude to our dedicated associates for their tremendous flexibility and commitment. Their efforts in adapting to adjusted schedules and working diligently in anticipation of this strike have been crucial in ensuring we continue to provide the best value for our customers,” Mr. Stutzman added.
A spokesperson added, “The MarketPlace will continue to work closely with all stakeholders to navigate any challenges that may arise. We will strive to maintain our highest standards of service to customers and to the entire country. The company remains committed to serving all of Bermuda and keeping to its motto, “You can count on us.”
WOW! That reads like a political campaign speech. Lots of fluff.
Why not simply say that we are going to do the best that we can. There are no guarantees. What happens in the US is beyond our control. Please be understanding and don’t make matters worse by panic buying.
Why would an importer, whose money is on the line, do this when our Minister of Natural Security has assured us that the PLP Government (whose money is not on the line) is taking “proactive measures … to mitigate any potential impact on Bermuda’s supply chain”?
PLP just arranged a meeting for a photo op/press release, the PLP ARE DOING NOTHING
You know it’s looking bad for the OBA when their own trolls bloggers complain constantly about nothing. LOL
Again I will ask you to please stop pretending to be me as you spew your vitriol
You’ll find that most who identify issues with the current government have genuine cause for concern. That does not make them OBA bloggers. It is Bermudians concerned about the neglect, mismanagement and abuse of power by the current government, which leads to wasting, losing or giving concessions destroying our country’s limited resource of funds. Just look at the neglect on the roads damaging your car, causing accidents. Look at the lack of transparency on the PLP elected members financial interests from government funds. Look at giving away $800K to a fraudster for a recording studio, buying large new Electric Cars and spouting lies about how much they will save…they will cost more in the long run. People are concerned.
Lol Lol here we go again Lol, we dont need a comedy show just come to the comment section and u will not be disappointed.
