Airport Emergency Exercise On Tuesday Evening

January 29, 2018

The LF Wade International Airport will be the site of an emergency exercise simulation tomorrow, Tuesday, January 30 beginning at 11pm.

“The exercise is designed to test the airport’s emergency plans, with various governmental and non-governmental agencies on hand to participate in the exercise. The aim of the exercise is to practice and test emergency protocols at the airport in the event of an actual emergency, as well as the readiness of the various agencies involved,” Skyport said.

“The exercise is being held late at night to avoid disrupting airlines and passengers and is not expected to impact the travelling public or the east end community.”

Aaron Adderley, President, Skyport, says: “We conduct these exercises every three years as part of our international regulatory requirements and to assess our emergency response capabilities.

“It is very important that airport agencies are best prepared in the event of an airport or aircraft emergency. We’re grateful to all those parties participating in the exercise and we thank the public in advance for their cooperation.”
