Montreal Canadiens 6 Vancouver Canucks 4
In the opener the Montreal Canadiens defeated the Vancouver Canucks 6 – 4, the Montreal Canadiens got a hat-trick from Derek Farmer, while Andrew Boner scored twice and Troy Dort scored the other, while the Vancouver Canucks got two goals apiece from Christopher Jackson and Ross Rufiange.
Calgary Flames 3 Edmonton Oilers 4
The Calgary Flames fell 4 – 3 to the Edmonton Oilers in the nightcap, the Edmonton Oilers were led to victory with a hat-trick off the stick of Adam Mattatall and Jon Talbot added the other, while Jeffrey Loper scored twice for the Calgary Flames, while Robbie Bailey added the other.
