Youth Maker Showcase To Be Held On Saturday
The Ministry of National Security is inviting the public to support Bermuda’s young people this weekend by attending the Youth Maker Showcase.
The event, which takes place Saturday, January 20th at the CedarBridge Academy Gym from 3:00 to 6:30pm, is aimed at celebrating the innovation, creativity, and resourcefulness of Bermuda’s students.
The Youth Maker Showcase is being held in conjunction with the All School Principal’s Parent Expo, and is sponsored by the Department of ICT Policy & Innovation.
Minister of National Security Wayne Caines said, “The Youth Maker Showcase is such an exciting event that provides parents and students with an opportunity to be introduced to the organizations that help our youth with innovative learning opportunities and with character building activities.
“We are pleased to be supporting the Youth Entrepreneurship Initiative in coordinating the Youth Maker Showcase along with the Department of Education and Workforce Development and the Department of Social Development and Sports.
“Additionally, it’s rewarding for the Ministry to be partnering with Imagine Bermuda and the All School Principal’s Parent Expo in this worthwhile endeavor.”
Dr. Marisa Stones, Director of the Department of ICT Policy & Innovation further explains, “It is not too late for any school or community organizations to exhibit an activity, demonstration or interactive display of what their programme does at the Youth Maker Showcase.
“We have room for them to set up a table in order to distribute material, show and discuss their activities with parents and students alike.”
To reserve a table, simply send an email to ICTPolicy@gov.bm or to makerfairebermuda@gmail.com. To register for the Parent Expo, go here.
