Harvard Groups To Perform On March 13th

March 4, 2018

Bishop Nicholas Dill and U.S. Consul General Mary Ellen Koenig invite all ages to attend a free lunchtime concert at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity on Tuesday, March 13th at 12:30, featuring the Radcliffe Pitches, the Harvard Krokodiloes and the Din and Tonics. These Harvard a Capella groups have performed annually in Bermuda for over 10 years to support local charities.

Harvard Krokodiloes

This year, the three groups will perform in support of Bermuda’s Action on Alzheimer’s and & Dementia [AAD], which will accept voluntary donations during the show. One hundred percent of the donations will go to AAD, which advocates for people living with dementia and provides support to their families and caregivers.

AAD offers free resources and services to the community including access to a dementia specialized occupational therapist, the provision of a robust activities program for persons living with dementia in the community, as well as education and training around the subject of dementia and person centered care for those living with the disease.

Radcliffe Pitches

Over 100 diseases cause dementia. Alzheimer’s, the most common form, is a progressive disease that destroys areas of the brain causing memory loss, confusion, loss of speech and movement.

Treatments for certain symptoms paired with supportive services can help bring comfort to those living with Alzheimer’s as there is currently no cure. Some other leading diseases that cause dementia are Vascular dementia, Lewy Body dementia and Frontotemporal dementia.

Consul General Koenig said, “The U.S. Consulate is delighted to once again partner with the Cathedral and the wonderful performers from Harvard in support of this important charity which does so much for Bermuda’s citizens who suffer from these debilitating diseases.”

Harvard Din & Tonics

The public is encouraged to come out and enjoy this free, upbeat and humorous performance from the Kroks, Pitches and Din and Tonics – three of Harvard University’s oldest a Cappella singing groups who perform all over the world.
