Investigations Into Indecent Exposure Incidents
The police continue to “conduct inquiries” regarding “men committing public acts of indecent exposure,” saying that “recent incidents have been reported in the Crow Lane, Pembroke area and the South Road, Smith’s parish area.”
A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service continues to conduct inquiries regarding unknown men committing public acts of indecent exposure. Recent incidents have been reported in the Crow Lane, Pembroke area and the South Road, Smith’s parish area.
“As a result, it is strongly recommended that all runners and walkers:
- “remain vigilant
- “avoid dimly lit areas
- “run or walk in pairs or a group
“If you encounter such offensive behaviour while out exercising – do not become confrontational. Instead, remain at a safe distance and get the best description you can of the offender.
“Only if it is safe to do so, take a photo with your phone – if you have it with you. Report the matter to police immediately, including the time, location and any description or photo[s].
“An accurate description or clear photo of the offender[s] will further assist detectives in identifying and apprehending the individual[s] committing these public acts of indecency.
“Once again, police urge anyone with any information regarding the person[s] responsible to call the main police telephone number 295-0011 or the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477.”
The BPS are attempting to gather evidence.
Apparently there is no legal way of keeping sex offenders in prison for their entire prison term, if recent events are any guide. So yet again, the victims of crime suffer while the perps get away with it.
hhmmm…. I wonder if it is some of those who ride around daily, with no purpose on this island…. just ride and aimlessly ride.
