Police Officer Suspended Following Arrest
A Bermuda Police Service officer arrested on suspicion of dishonesty offences has been suspended with pay while the investigation continues.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service can confirm that the officer recently arrested on suspicion of dishonesty offences has also been suspended from duty, with pay, under the Police Conduct Orders 2016.
“The investigation is still ongoing, so we won’t be releasing further details or names at this time.”
Commissioner Darrin Simons said, “Suspension isn’t a finding of guilt. Before making that decision we are required to consider the nature of the allegation, whether restricted duties are appropriate, what the investigation needs, and the public interest. In this case, suspension is the right call.”
