Lewis Signs Pro Contract With Iceland’s FH
[Written by Don Burgess]
Bermuda midfielder Zeiko Lewis is ecstatic to be a professional footballer again.
The former New York Red Bulls number one draft pick has been out of contract since the end of last year when his former club released him.
He signed with Iceland’s most dominant pro team Fimleikafélag Hafnarfjarðar [FH]. The club has been Icelandic champion three times this decade: 2012, 2015 and 2016; and eight times national champion since 2004. The club was involved in both the UEFA Champions League and Europe League the 2017-18 season.

The vast majority of FH’s team is from Iceland, but it does have a few international players such as Robbie Crawford and Steven Lennon from Scotland; Edigeison Gomes from Guinea-Bissau, Gunnar Nielssen from the Faore Islands and Cedric D’Ulivo from France.
Lewis told Bernews it felt good to be signed again.
“I got to train with them a little while they were in preseason in Spain. He said the players on FH are very talented and more importantly, they “are great people.
“It’s good to be back on the field and with new challenges faced before me. I’m looking forward to the UEFA competitions and hopefully helping my team to win as many games as possible to go further than they have before and also the opportunity to play against many other great players and teams.”
This was the second piece of good news for Lewis this week. He scored in Bermuda’s 3-2 loss in a friendly against hosts Antigua and Barbuda on Wednesday.
Congratulations, Zeiko. Your fellow Bermudians join me in wanting terrific success for you!!
