Ascendant Group Announces Board Changes
In a filing with the Bermuda Stock Exchange [BSX], Ascendant Group Limited has announced board changes.
The full filing stated, “The Board of Directors of Ascendant Group Limited announces the retirement of David Dodwell, Sr and Edward Williams from the Company’s Board of Directors [the “Board”], effective 18 May 2018.
“On behalf of the Board, Staff and Shareholders, we thank them for their contributions to both the Ascendant Group of Companies and our community overall. We are grateful for their insight and support over the course of their tenures.
“The Board also announces the appointment of Anne Cleary and Rudoph Wynter, effective 18 May 2018.
“Anne Cleary is a senior executive with over 30 years of extensive management and technical experience, providing leadership throughout major business events. She has an extensive track record in commercialising assets and P&L creation. Ms. Cleary has led all aspects of the integration of two Fortune 500 company M&A transactions, successfully developed and commercialised large capital power projects and served as the business unit president for over 6,000 MW of fossil generation.
“Her experience spans business unit P&L, M&A, business development, engineering, capital expenditure analysis, business strategy development and execution, risk management, regulatory, federal and state legislative affairs, line and engineering operations, environmental compliance and human resources. Her experience as a director includes major governance and human resource roles on industry boards, including serving as chair.
“Ms. Clearly is currently an electric industry consultant, advising on the technical integration, commercialisation and regulation of energy storage and renewables. She serves as both a senior advisor in the Taffrail Group, an international strategic-advisory firm, and as a principal at Modern Grid Solutions, an international consulting firm, focusing on smart grid and distributed energy resource deployment.
“Rudolph Wynter is responsible for one of the largest electric transmission networks in the northeast of the United States. He directs National Grid’s energy procurement activities and the development of National Grid’s regulated energy storage assets and opportunities.
“He also oversees National Grid’s 4,000 MW generation fleet on Long Island, New York and its liquefied natural gas [LNG] storage facility in Providence, Rhode Island. Previously Mr. Wynter was senior vice president of US Shared Services, and during his 30 year career in the energy industry, has held positions of responsibility in customer operations, strategic planning, engineering and operations.
“He serves on the boards of the Brooklyn Historical Society and the Brooklyn Community Foundation and is a member of The American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Edison Electric Institute and the American Gas Association. Mr. Wynter earned his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the Pratt Institute, an MBA from Fordham University and has completed an executive development program at Harvard University.
