Court: Visitor Fined After Fight On Front Street
After being arrested following an altercation on Front Street this weekend, a visitor from New Jersey has been fined a total of $1,250 after he pleaded guilty to affray and resisting arrest.
The altercation, which took place in the area of the Dog House on Front Street in the early hours of May 20th, ended with Bryan Wood being subdued by police officers and captor spray being deployed, with a video capturing the incident going viral afterward.
In court, Mr. Wood said he had never been in trouble before and apologized to the both the Court and “people of Bermuda,” stating that the altercation began because a man was being “obnoxious” to his girlfriend, and that, as he had been drinking, his judgement was lacking.
Following his guilty pleas, Mr. Wood, who was apparently visiting the island for a wedding, was ordered by Magistrate Tyrone Chin to pay fines of $500 for affray and $750 for resisting arrest.
