Cricket: BSSF Girls Middle School Super 8′s

Dellwood Middle School won the Bermuda School Sports Federation Middle School Girls Super 8 Cricket Tournament at the National Sports Center with a down to the wire win over Warwick Academy.

Warwick Academy batted first and posted 61 runs in their allotted seven overs. Warwick were led by Tayla Horan with 23 runs and Jessie Debraga added 19. Dellwood crossed that score in a ball to spare without losing a wicket. Chance Godwin and K’xiyae Gibbons each scored 21 runs for the champions.

Dellwood defeated Sandys Secondary Middle School in their Semi-Final, Sandy’s batted first and posted 71 runs behind Gihle Daileys 24 runs and Zayda Simmons added 19. Dellwood again reached their target for no loss in five overs with both Godwin and Gibbons finishing on 32 each.

Warwick Academy edged past Saltus Grammar School in the other Semi-Final. Saltus batted first and posted 57 runs, Jailyn Boddington and Carolyn Driscoll scored 10 each for Saltus. Tayla Horan led Warwick in reaching their target with a knock of 32.
