Hotel Hires 7 Employees Following Programme
Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, the Bermuda Hospitality Institute and the Government of Bermuda today announce the successful conclusion of a Guest Room Attendant Programme held at the hotel, with seven of the participants hired by the resort as a result of the programme.
The two-week programme is a public-private collaboration between the Bermuda Hospitality Institute, Hamilton Princess & Beach Club and three Government ministries: Ministry of Education & Workforce Development, Ministry of Economic Development & Tourism and Ministry of Social Development & Sport. An additional optional, a week of practical experience was offered to those who wanted to participate.
The course taught participants about the fundamentals and theory behind housekeeping work and provided them with all of the information and skills they need to keep guest rooms clean, safe and well maintained at any Bermuda lodging.
As part of the programme, they learnt about standard operating procedures for guest room attendants and housekeepers, proper cleaning procedures for Guest rooms and guest relations and much more.
Following completion of the mandatory two weeks and a written exam, successful participants will be awarded a Guestroom Attendant certificate from the American Hotel and Lodging Association.
Hamilton Princess & Beach Club hired five new Room Attendants and two new House Persons from the class.
Tim Morrison, General Manager of Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, said: “We are proud to be able to support this important training initiative with the Bermuda Hospitality Institute and the Government of Bermuda.
