Thompson & Eaton To Speak At Chamber AGM
The Bermuda Chamber of Commerce has announced the keynote speakers for this year’s Annual General Meeting [AGM] Luncheon will be Mark Thompson, Global Privacy Lead for KPMG International, presenting alongside Chris Eaton, Cyber Security lead for KPMG Islands Group.
A spokesperson said, “Mr. Thompson specializes in Cyber Security and Privacy Advisory Services and will present alongside Chris Eaton, Cyber Security lead for KPMG Islands Group.
“The AGM Luncheon will be held at the Hamilton Princess in the Harbourview Ballroom on Thursday, 10 May 2018 from 12:30PM to 2:00 PM. This year’s Luncheon will focus on Privacy, a business issue with organizational impacts affecting sales, marketing, IT, finance and HR.
“Business professionals from all industries are invited to come out and learn what Privacy means for Bermuda and what we need to be thinking about now. Those who attend can expect to hear an insightful discussion on the global privacy landscape with practical examples of what is happening across a wide range of industries such as retail, government, health care, utilities, travel and transportation. “Mark Thompson has worked in over 22 countries managing and delivering Privacy Advisory work in multiple sectors including: Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, Clinical Research, Bio Technology, Health Services, Retail, e-Commerce, Financial Services, Telecommunications, Media, Manufacturing, Utilities, Government, Travel Services, Public Transport, and Aviation.
“He has led the scoping, design and implementation of Data Mapping at large global organisations; designed, developed and implemented company-wide Privacy risk management frameworks for Forbes 500 clients, including assessing specific Privacy risks and developing mitigating process control solutions. Solutions include Governance structures and operating models, Personal Information Inventories, Privacy Policies, Privacy-specific controls, Privacy training and awareness, third party management and incident management.
“Chris Eaton holds the CIPP/E qualification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals and is the Cyber Security Lead for the KPMG Islands Group. Chris joined KPMG in 2014 and is a Senior Manager and the Service Line Lead for IT Advisory in Bermuda. He has been principally involved in providing Information Protection, Attestation and IT Risk Consulting to a wide variety of clients including SEC registrants and large public and non-public entities.”
