Big Chill Set To Warm Up Destination Dockyard
The Big Chill will be the next headline act at the west end weekly event, Destination Dockyard.
“We can’t wait to play at Dockyard,” said the band’s co-founder Tony Brannon. “We’ve heard great things about the event and how popular it is. It is going to be great fun.”
Destination Dockyard returned last month after an absence of a few years and is being run by PinkSand Entertainment, which successfully submitted an RFP put out by the West End Development Corporation [WEDCO].
Held on Monday evenings, it features artists exhibiting their crafts through live creations where guests have the opportunity to participate, an event main stage for different host DJs, local live bands and special guests and a food area full of local cuisine.
The Big Chill recently won the Best of Bermuda Award for Best Musician/Musical Group 2018 when they were described as “one of the most recognized names in Bermuda’s live entertainment scene, as their name is synonymous with the transcendent summer party vibes that make our busy season appealing to both residents and tourists”.
Their lead singer, Jesse Seymour won Bermuda Idol in 2016, was selected for the America’s Cup band in 2017and was featured at the Made in Bermuda Festival last November. On Monday they will be performing their latest song Bermuda [Havana Riddim'].
WEDCO’s Marketing & Events Manager, Stephanie Rodill, said the event, which started on July 23, had proved to be a big success with both locals and visitors.
“The Big Chill is a very well-known band and I am sure they will create a great atmosphere, but there are lots of other things happening as well and The Mall is also open. Destination Dockyard really is something for the whole family.”
The event takes place every Monday from 7pm to 10pm until September 24 with additional dates in October being Saturday the 6, Monday 15, Sunday the 21, Friday the 26 and Wednesday the 31.
