Premier, Deputy Meet With U.S. Representatives
Premier David Burt and Deputy Premier Walter Roban traveled to Washington DC, where they held meetings with US Congressional representatives including Rep. Gregory Meeks, Rep. Karen Bass, Rep. Emmanuel Cleaver, and Rep. Gwen Moore.
Premier Burt tweeted the photos below, saying, “Spoke with @repcleaver about #Bermuda’s role as a global centre for insurance and re-insurance. Highlighted the importance of Bermuda’s insurance market to aid recovery and rebuilding of infrastructure in the wake of natural disasters around the world.”
Premier Burt also tweeted the photo below, saying, “Met @RepGwenMoore of the Financial Services Commitee, reiterating Bermuda’s high standard of tax transparency. Discussed ways to reduce the impact that de-risking is having on Bermuda-based businesses, allowing us to deliver on our promise to grow the economy through fintech.”
The third tweet from Premier Burt with the photo below, said, “A fruitful meeting with @RepKarenBass this afternoon. We highlighted steps Bermuda has taken to tackle money laundering and terrorist financing.”
The fourth tweet from Premier Burt with the photo below, said, “Morning meeting with @RepGregoryMeeks member of the House Financial Services Committee to discuss de-risking and the impact that it is having on Bermuda’s banks and businesses.”
