Three Hurricanes Currently In Atlantic Ocean
Three named hurricanes are currently making their paths through the Atlantic Ocean, with the Bermuda Weather Service saying that one of the three — Hurricane Florence – is a “potential threat to Bermuda”, while the other two – Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Isaac – are “not a threat to Bermuda at this time.”

At last check, the BWS said Hurricane Florence’s closest point of approach to Bermuda within 72 hrs is forecast to be 297 nm to the SSW at 8pm on Tuesday, September 11th.
In their forecast discussion, the BWS said, “Moderate east-southeasterly winds Tuesday morning will gradually increase moderate to strong in the evening as Hurricane Florence – by then expected to be a category 4 storm, passes it’s closest point of approach 300nm to our south.
“Moderate to rough seas will gradually rise to very rough in the south and east with building southeasterly swells from Hurricane Florence. Swells will remain very rough to the south and east for Wednesday while gradually shifting southerly as Florence moves away to our southwest.”
