Football: Premier, First Division Weekend Results

Footballers in the Premier Division and First Division took to the field this weekend, with the X-Road’s, BAA, Paget Lions, Boulevard Blazers, Southampton Rangers, Wolves, Somerset Eagles, and Devonshire Colts earning wins, while two other matches ended in draws.

Premier: PHC Zebras 0 Robin Hood 0

This Premier Division top of the table clash between the defending league champions PHC Zebras and Robin Hood ended scoreless at the PHC Stadium.

Both teams struggled to get the upper hand in the match, although the first 45 minutes saw Robin Hood create some chances, but poor finishing or timely tackles prevented them from finding the back of the net.

Both PHC and Robin Hood have not been defeated this season, with the PHC Zebras dropping their first points of the season, while Robin Hood have drawn for a third time.

Premier: Devonshire Cougars 1 X-Roads 4

X-Roads moved to the top of the Premier Division standings with this 4 – 1 win over the Devonshire Cougars who have fallen to 8th in the standings. X-Roads would get 2 goals from Tymon Daniels and single strikes from Donavan Thompson and Paul Simons, while Shaki Pearman scored the lone goal for the Devonshire Cougars.

Premier: North Village Rams 0 BAA 1

BAA picked up their second win of the season with a 1 – 0 win over the North Village Rams at the Bernard Park, a lone strike from Marcus Brangman earned them the three points.

Premier: Somerset Trojans 0 Paget Lions 3

At the Somerset Cricket Club a Dion Stovell hat-trick earned the Paget lions a 3 – 0 win over the Somerset Trojans who are now at the bottom of the standings, while the Paget lions are 5th.

Premier: Dandy Town Hornets 2 Boulevard Blazers 3

At the St. John’s Field the Boulevard Blazers picked up their first win of the season with a 3 – 2 win over the Dandy Town Hornets. Aldonte Smith gave the Boulevard Blazers the lead in the 7th minute, but Zaire Burchall equalized for the Dandy Town Hornets in the 25th minute. The Boulevard Blazers would go back in front in the 32nd minute when Clay Darrell scored, but two minutes later it was 2 – 2 when Angelo Simmons scored. In the 37th minute the Boulevard Blazers would get a third that proved to be the winner when Khiry Easton scored.

First: Vasco 0 Southampton Rangers 7

At the Bernard Park the Southampton Rangers would continue their march toward promotion with a 7 – 0 win over Vasco. Donte Brangman would lead the way with a hat-trick, while Darius Cox added two goals. Jahkai Hill and Maquel Nisbett-Tankard both found the target once.

First: Flanagan’s Onions 0 Ireland Rangers 0

At the BAA Field, the Flanagan’s Onions and Ireland Rangers played to a scoreless draw.

First: Wolves 2 St. George’s Colts 1

At the Garrison Field, Wolves would get two goals from Lamelle Paynter as they defeated visiting St. George’s Colts 2 – 1, Jahki Brangman scored the lone goal for the visitors.

First: Somerset Eagles 2 St. David’s 0

After a scoreless first half at the White Hill Field, the Somerset Eagles would get a goal from Jahnai Ratteray and Leo Burgess as they defeated St. David’s 2 – 0 .

First: Devonshire Colts 2 Young Men Social Club 1

At the Police Field, the Devonshire Colts picked up their third win of the season and moved into second place with a 2 – 1 win over Young Men Social Club. Teniko Eve opened the scoring for the Devonshire Colts with an own goal leveling the match at 1 – 1. The winner would come in the 75th minute when Charles Trott scored.
