Photos & Video: Fire Safety Awareness Week

[Updated with photos] The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service [BFRS] is launching their Fire Safety Awareness Week today [Oct 8]. We will have additional coverage later on and in the meantime the live video is below.

Groups of children were arriving throughout the day to interact with fire fighters, visit with ‘Sparky’, and watch a show performed by ‘Curtis’ on fire prevention.

Update 5.12pm: A Ministry spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service [BFRS] annual Fire Safety Awareness Week kicked off earlier today. This year’s activities take place from October 8 – 12 under the theme of “Look. Listen. Learn. Be Aware – Fire Can Happen Anywhere”!

“The Minister of National Security, Wayne Caines was pleased to support the BFRS’s awareness efforts today by reading the annual Proclamation to school students and attendees.

“The BFRS will be sharing their safety message with the Island’s various schools.”
