Murder Trial: Jury Hears About Music Video
A jury in the trial of five teenagers charged in connection with the murder of 17-year-old Bermudian Lyrico Steede heard how a music video mirrored the crime, according to the latest report from Nottingham Post.
The report said, “A murder jury heard that a music video mirrored the knife killing of teenager Lyrico Steede, who was chased from a Bulwell park.
“The lyrics were outlined as the prosecution summed up its case against four youths accused of the attack and a girl alleged to have lured the 17-year-old to his death.
“QC Peter Joyce, prosecuting , said two lines read, “Run him down until brother can’t breathe. Someone going to get Ramboed up.”
“He said that was a reference to chasing their quarry and using a Rambo knife to stab him.
“The video goes on to mention putting someone in “a shirt and in the ground.” Mr Joyce said “shirt” meant “shroud” and ground was a “grave.”
“Mr Joyce said there was clear evidence that two youths reached Lyrico first, stabbed him and ran off. Then, he alleged, he was stabbed again as the second pair promptly arrived.
“The stabbing took place on February 13. Lyrico died five days later in the QMC after suffering several wounds.”
Five teenagers deny the murder of the 17-year-old Bermudian, and the trial continues in the Nottingham Crown Court in the UK.
