Results: BSSF Football Knock-Out Competition

Action concluded in the Bermuda Schools Sports Federation [BSSF] Football Knock-Out competition and festival with thrilling play the consistent feature of the nine finals on offer at the National Sports Complex’s North Field on Saturday.

A corresponding nine champions were thus crowned on the day, giving bragging rights and competitive achievement to all involved.

The day presented deciding matches in categories from primary to middle school levels, demonstrating the sporting talent extended among the Island’s institutions of learning.

Fist up in the Primary School Division 2 final St. George’s Prep -5 defeated Gilbert Institute 5-0 behind a hat-trick from Azende Trott-Smith, and single goals from Rudell Pitcher Jr., and Shia Harford. Pitcher was also named the Most Valuable Player for the east enders, while Gilbert Institute had their MVP as Troy Washington.

In Primary School Division 1 Warwick Academy squeaked by West Pembroke on a mistaken own goal. MVP for Warwick was Ralph Scott as West Pembroke Primary named MVP as Dekao Leverock.

Harrinton Sound Primary took the Primary School Girls Final 5-3 over Saltus on three goals from Kalila Dailey and two from Jashay Trott, with MVP Amira El Karfa.

For Saltus. Avani Patton, Brooke Castree and Emily Henshilwood scored while MVP was Asha Dunleavy.

At Middle School Girls level, Whitney Institute Middle School extended themselves as 5-0 victors over T.N. Tatem as Jahni Simmons [3], Jahde Simmons and Juliana Viera tallied, with Simmons the MVP and Keidel Astwood also an MVP.

Of great intrigue and tension was the Middle School Under 13 final between Saltus and Warwick Academy that ended 3-3 and was decided 6-5 in sudden death penalties.

For Saltus Grammar School scorers were James Morrison, Bakari Furbert and Kieron Bean, while for Warwick Academy Xavi DeRosa, Charlie Thompson and Alessio Ferigo got goals.

The Middle School Over 13 Final went to Dellwood 4-3 on penalties past Sandys after they ended deadlocked 1-1. Mason Robinson scored and was Sandys MVP, while Kentaro Bean scored and Zee-Nyan Grant was MVP

The Senior School Under 16 Final was Berkeley Green 1 -0 over Berkley Gold, with Zaire Weller scoring and MVP being Joshua Joseph along with Gold’s Milai Perott.

Among the Senior Girls Final McKenna O’Donnell and Danni Watson scored to take Saltus to a 2-1 triumph over Berkeley. Emily Cabral was Saltus’ MVP, while Dazarre Place also received accolades in a losing cause.

The closing Senior Boys featured a 2-1 win or Berkeley Institute over CedarBridge Academy. Jeze Butterfield and Jaheim Iris scored for Berkeley and Iris was MVP. For CedarBridge, Zinake Hendrickson scored and MVP was Jahtwan Minors.
