Swimmers Continue Competing In Florida
Members of the Warwick Academy Swim Team were back in action competing at the 28th Annual Speedo Winter Championships in Plantation, Florida.
In early action the swimmers competed in the Preliminaries.
Logan Watson-Brown advanced to the 15-16 Women’s 200 Yard Backstroke Final when she finished with the 6th fastest time of 2:12.37.
Jack Harvey advanced to the 15-16 Men’s 200 Yard Backstroke Final after finishing 7th with a time of 2:00.35.
Tayla Horan finished 26th while competing in the 13-14 Women’s 50 Yard Breaststroke touching the wall in a time of 35.45.
During the 13-14 Women’s 100 Yard Freestyle, Taylor White finished 15th with a time of 56.10, Horan finished 37th clocking a time of 58.02.
Watson-Brown advanced to the 15-16 Women’s 100 Yard Freestyle Final after she recorded a time of 52.51, Gabriela Pitman finished 17th when she was clocked at 55.14, while Skyler Powell finished 25th touching the wall in a time of 56.11 and Talia Thompson finished 52nd after clocking 57.97.
Caleb Ingham finished 13th with a time of 49.18, while competing in the 15-16 Men’s 100 Yard Freestyle, Brian Desmond finished 18th after he was clocked in a time of 49.48 and Jack Harvey finished 61st touching the wall in a time of 52.46.
During the Men’s 17 & Over 100 Yard Freestyle Zebedee Wakely finished 32nd with a time of 50.23, Joshua Thorne finished 43rd clocking a time of 51.19 and Lewis Sweeney finished 65th with a time of 54.99.
Powell claimed a spot in the 15-16 Women’s 400 Yard IM Final after she finished 10th with a time of 4:46.67.
Harvey advanced to the 15-16 Men’s 400 Yard IM Final as well after he clocked the 8th fastest time of 4:23.72.
Horan clocked a time of 30.15 during the 13-14 Women’s 50 Yard Butterfly which saw her finish 52nd.
Watson-Brown is also heading to the 15-16 Women’s 50 Yard Butterfly Final after finishing 4th with a time of 26.12, Powell finished 11th touching the wall in a time of 27.29, Pitman would touch the wall in a time of 28.23 finishing 26th and Thompson would finish 53rd with a time of 29.96.
During the 15-16 Men’s 50 Yard Butterfly, Ingham finished 16th with a time of 24.91.
Wakely would touch the wall in a time of 23.94 on his way to finishing 12th during the Men’s 17 & Over 50 Yard Butterfly, Thorne would finish 32nd with a time of 25.39 and Sweeney finished 56th with a time of 28.83.
During the Women’s 400 Yard Medley Relay the team of Pitman, Powell, White and Watson-Brown finished 6th with a time of 4:15.22.
Harvey, Thorne, Wakely and Ingham finished 9th while competing in the Men 400 Yard Medley Relay with a time of 3:50.31.
