Extraordinary Municipal Election On February 5

The Parliamentary Registrar reminded voters in the Municipality of St. George that an extraordinary municipal election will be held on February 5th at Penno’s Wharf Cruise Ship Terminal in St. George.

“All registered municipal residents are eligible to vote in this extraordinary election,” a spokesperson said.

“There will be an Advanced Poll for voters who will not be able to make it to the polls on polling day due to incapacity or travel. The Advanced Poll is on Thursday, 31 January 2019, from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Penno’s Wharf Cruise Ship Terminal.

“To apply for a Certificate of Intended Absence, travelers are required to present their travel documents and photo identification to the Parliamentary Registrar.

“To apply for a Certificate of Incapacity, Incapacitated Voters are required to present to the Registrar a letter from a registered physician stating their incapacity together with photo identification.

“The Parliamentary Registry is located on the 3rd floor of Craig Appin House, #8 Wesley Street, Hamilton. The office will be open for Advanced Polling certificates daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with extended hours on Thursday 31, January 2019 until 8:00 p.m.

“All voters wishing to vote in advance must first apply for a certificate.”
