Interested In Learning About Running A Charity?

January 22, 2019

Do you work for a nonprofit? Are you a Board member? Are you interested in learning the ins and outs of running a charity?

If so, the Centre on Philanthropy said, “The Nonprofit Leadership Development Programme provides an excellent opportunity for those interested in learning how to effectively manage a nonprofit organisation.

“Offered through a partnership between The Centre on Philanthropy, YouthNet and The Bermuda Community Foundation; the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee Introduction to Nonprofit Management Certificate, introduces learners to key current management topics for nonprofit organisations. Topics include fundraising, board and volunteer development, budgeting, reading financial statements, leadership, marketing and setting strategic direction.

“Through 11 self-guided online workshops, participants move at their own pace as they complete each segment over the course of 11 months. Participants develop a greater mastery of leadership skills and increase their confidence in applying these skills effectively in the nonprofit workplace.”

“All participants will be matched with a Nonprofit Professional as a mentor. In addition, participants will attend a group workshop monthly where they will learn from a cross section of industry professionals.

“This is an opportunity not to be missed! The course work and networking provide a great chance for anyone currently engaged with the nonprofit sector or looking to get involved.”

Danielle Riviere, Executive Director of The Centre on Philanthropy, says “The Nonprofit Leadership Development Programme provides those currently working in the nonprofit sector, Board members or those interested in working for a nonprofit, the opportunity to learn about all the critical elements of running a nonprofit. We are concluding our second round of offering the Programme and are set to graduate twenty-one participants!”
