Video: ‘Taking Off’ Highlights Skyport Magic Mile
Skyport has released the twenty-fourth episode of ‘Taking Off’, a video series with host Mikaela Pearman that highlights the airport redevelopment project, with this episode highlighting the Skyport Magic Mile.
Speaking in the twenty-fourth episode, Mikaela Pearman said, “Skyport is the new sponsor of the former Telford Electric Magic Mile, now called Skyport Magic Mile.
“The event, in its 24th year, was held on Saturday, February 23 at the National Sports Centre featuring hundreds of eager young runners.
“Bermuda Pacers Track Club organized the seamless event which saw 500 runners aged four to 15 years old participating in their respective age groups. Parents, family members and friends were on hand to cheer the athletes on over the course of the day.
“The purpose of the Skyport Magic Mile is to promote, ignite and capture the interest of running in our children, and to allow the schools to showcase their athletes while enabling the Bermuda Pacers Track Club to identify and work with those promising youngsters who want to compete further in track and field.
“Skyport is pleased to be the new sponsors of this incredible event that has excited Bermuda’s young athletes for more than two decades as it fits in with our focus on investing in Bermuda’s youth through education, sports and the arts.
“Look out for it again next year this time.”
