New Zealanders To Hold Candlelight Vigil

March 20, 2019

This coming Thursday [March 21] a group of New Zealanders that live in Bermuda will be holding a candlelight vigil in remembrance of those impacted by the tragic events in New Zealand.

The Vigil will follow the devastating terrorist attack in New Zealand in which at least 50 people were killed and 50 were wounded in terror attack targeting two mosques in the New Zealand city of Christchurch.

The vigil will take place on Thursday March 21, 6:30pm at Victoria Park, Hamilton and the organisers said that “anyone who wishes to share solidarity and compassion is welcome to join in the vigil.”

“There will be a short welcome, a prayer, two minutes silence, and the New Zealand national anthem. A respected member of the Muslim community will also speak,” the organisers said.

“Please bring candles with drip catchers. Rather than purchasing flowers, please consider a donation to NZ Victim Support Give a Little: Christchurch Shooting Victims Fund here.”

“If the weather is inclement, a rain date will be advised.”
