Student Video Competition For Hospitality Month
April is Hospitality Month and this year the Bermuda Tourism Authority is focused on incorporating the National Tourism Plan into the month’s programming, particularly as it relates to school children.
“The ‘local involvement’ pillar of the plan is the most closely aligned to the island’s education system because it speaks of career opportunities for young people and stresses the importance of the tourism industry to the country’s economic success,” the BTA said.
“To engage young minds around tourism the Bermuda Tourism Authority will invite schools to participate in a Hospitality Month video competition called ‘A Day in the Life of …..’ The objective is to challenge M3 and high school students across Bermuda to create a short video highlighting their take on the most unique tourism job. Students will be tasked with showcasing what they find in a way that delights visitors’ senses.”
“We hope this kind of creative, engaging project will capture imaginations about careers in tourism and the importance of tourism to Bermuda’s economic success,” said Bermuda Tourism Authority COO Karla Lacey.
Today the BTA opened the contest for submissions. The deadline is April 16, 2019. Winner[s] will be announced on April 30. The winner[s] will receive a hospitality adventure sponsored by K.S. Watersports.
