Annual Eye Institute Classic Race On April 14th

April 4, 2019

The Arboretum will come alive in just under two weeks as runners and walkers are expected to take part in the annual Eye Institute Classic Run and Walk.

“The family-friendly annual Eye Institute Classic Run and Walk will commence at the Arboretum on Sunday April 14th and will take runners and walkers on a varying course along Middle Road and past Ocean View golf course,” a spokesperson said.

“Families are encouraged to participate. There is a shorter 1-mile race for children starting at 8.30 am with the 5k for adult runners and walkers following 30 minutes later.

“The Eye Institute Classic is a fitness-themed fundraising event which encourages participants to get fit for a good cause. The event brings together people of all ages and fitness levels who thrive on the opportunity to exercise for charity.

“T-shirts and goody bags will be available for the first 300 participants. Draw prizes include an airline travel voucher and two bicycles.

“The guest of honour will be the Deputy Governor Mrs. Alison Crocket. Register online at www.racedayworld.com. This year’s race directors are Leonard Teye-Botchway and Nana Otu Turkson. For over a decade, the event has raised thousands of dollars for charity.”
