WiRe & Under 40’s In Philanthropy Discussion
Women in Reinsurance [WiRe] and the Under 40’s in Philanthropy group will host a panel discussion this month to educate young professionals about the roles they can play in Bermuda’s third sector, including serving on charitable boards.
The lunchtime panel will be moderated by Danielle Riviere, Executive Director of the Centre on Philanthropy.
“The nonprofit sector, like so many other sectors around the world, is facing a huge transition as the baby-boomer generation begins to retire. We wanted to engage the next generation of potential leaders and we’re excited to tell professionals in Bermuda about the many opportunities to join and support the nonprofit sector.” said Ms. Riviere
The lineup will consist of four panelists:
- Samantha Nearon, Training and Education Coordinator, Centre on Philanthropy & Board Chair, Under 40’s in Philanthropy;
- Keri Pacheco, Programme Coordinator Raleigh Bermuda & Partnerships/Collaboration Manager, Under 40’s in Philanthropy;
- Steve Woodward, Managing Director, KPMG, Board Chair, Corporate Social Responsibility Committee, KPMG;
- Dantae Williams, Associate in Litigation and Advice Team, Marshall Diel & Myers Ltd., Board Chair, Alpha Beautillion Scholarship and Mentor Program.
“WiRe strives to offer events to support the professional development of our members. This panel discussion offers a great follow up to last year’s event, Breaking Board – Understanding the Role of a Director and How You Can Qualify. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn about the Centre on Philanthropy’s Board Service Training course and will also find out how to get involved at all levels with Bermuda’s more than 400 charities.” said Rachael Afford, Head of WiRe’s events committee.
The panel session is open to all female and male professionals and there is no charge to attend. It is scheduled to take place at AXA XL on April 16th from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. Space is limited so the organisers request those interested in attending to RSVP using the following link: here
“WiRe and the Under 40’s In Philanthropy group would like to extend their thanks to AXA XL for providing the meeting space for this event. Without the support from our members’ companies we would not be able to stage such events,” a spokesperson said.
