Bermuda Softball Week Two Results

May 6, 2019

For the first time in more than a decade, Softball Bermuda has eight teams in their A Division. After two weeks of play, only Sea Venture Overseas Shipping and Blue Wahoos have perfect records.

Sea Venture has dominated both of their games winning via the Mercy Rule. SVOS beat Paraquet Flyers 16 to 1 then followed that up with a 29 to 9 thrashing of Hakuna Matata Charters.

Blue Wahoos downed Chubb Kings 12-9, then downed Platano Power 20-12.

Hardknockz is the only women’s team still undefeated. Last year’s champs slipped past PHC Zebras 14-11 in their opener then beat rival Angels 17-15. In the contest against Angels, Hardknockz relied on a nine-run second inning to build a lead they would not relinquish. Sarah Robinson was 4-4 with three doubles while winning pitcher Latreece Fray was 3-4.

Both BEST Shipping and Athene Warriors are off to hot starts in the Corporate Division as they have defeated KPMG and PWC so far. The two sides were scheduled to meet Monday night to give one of them a leg up in the title race.

In the game against KPMG, Donovan Thompson proved to be a viable leadoff hitter in going 3-4 and scoring four runs for BEST. Teammate Carlos Lopes was 3-5 with four RBI and three runs scored.

Beach Bums are 2-0 in the B Division after beating Raggamuffins 16-16 before edging Team Smokey 20-18.
