Impact Mentoring Welcomes New Principal
Impact Mentoring Academy announced the appointment of Mr. Shayne Scott as their new Principal.
“We are excited to welcome Mr. Shayne Scott as the new Principal of IMPACT Mentoring Academy. He comes highly recommended, duly qualified and suitably experienced for the post,” said Executive Director of IMA Chris Crumpler.
Chairman of the Board of Directors Cal White said, “The goal of Impact Mentoring Academy is to shape the lives of the young men we engage in a way that creates a powerful combination of ability and character. The presence of male staff that model the character we seek our students to emulate is essential in this process.
“In that regard, the Board of Directors is excited to welcome Mr. Shayne Scott as our new Principal. Mr. Scott comes with excellent academic and personal qualifications and experience that will serve our students well and we look forward to his leadership as we continue to unlock the potential of our students and release them into a destiny of greatness.
“He will oversee daily operations which will allow the Executive Director of the organization, Mr. Chris Crumpler, to fulfill his mandate to strategically move the organization forward on long-term objectives to address education in Bermuda.”
Mr Scott said, “I am extremely pleased and proud to be next Academy Principal of Impact Mentoring Academy. Mentoring is such an important aspect of character development and must be held as a key component of a quality well rounded education.
“It is my desire to build upon the excellent work of my predecessors to facilitate a first-rate educational experience that will produce Bermudian men of quality and release them into their destiny. IMPACT is in the business of doing exactly that, and I am honoured to partner with them in this endeavor
Impact Mentoring Academy describes themselves as a “single-gendered, ‘charter’ school for boys in M1 – S4″ with a “main purpose and objective to provide an enriching alternative educational options for Bermuda’s young men.”
They recently participated in the 2019 Marine Advanced Technology in Education [MATE] Bermuda Regional Remotely Operated Vehicle [ROV] Challenge, 2017 and 2018 Alpha Beautillions, and host annual Spoken Word Fundraisers in aid of their annual educational and humanitarian tours in which they have visited Haiti, Dominican Republic, Atlanta, and Washington DC.

I’m a big supporter of Impact and the heart / vision they have for our young men.
