Bermuda Snooker League 2018/19 Champions

The Bermuda Snooker League season has come to an end, with the season featuring League Games, plus the Bermuda Open Singles & Doubles, Keen Cup, Island Construction Services Cup and the Tony DeSilva Memorial Cup.

League

The 2018/19 Snooker League Champions were Sandys Boat Club One with a point score of 51 over close rival Spanish Point Boat Club Two who finished in the runners up position with 48 points and third place went to Watford Sports Club with 41 points.

Tony Desilva Memorial Cup

The first ever Tony DeSilva Memorial Cup was won by Steven Bremar of Warwick Workmen’s Club when he defeated Sandys Boat Club’s Peter Bromby 3 – 1. Bremar said, “I am proud to be the 1st winner of the tournament fondly remembered on honor of the late Tony DeSilva.”

Island Construction Services Cup

Sandys Boat Club One picked up the win in the Island Construction Services Cup Final when they beat Warwick Workmen’s Club Two. Mike Zimmerman gave Warwick Workmen’s Club Two the lead when he defeated Sandys Richie Beale on the black. The tide then turned however as Sandys Boat Club One’s Paul Fedden, Peter Bromby and Martin Siese all recorded wins to take the title by 3 – 1.

Keen Cup

Watford Sports Club took the Keen Cup when they defeated Spanish Point Boat Club Two team 3 – 1. Billy Wotton being the only winner for Spanish Point Boat Club Two in a surprise result, with Spanish Point Boat Club Two having started as favorites for the title.

Bermuda Open Singles

The Bermuda Open Final saw Warwick Workmen’s Club ‘s Steven Bremar face off against Sandys Boat Club’s Peter Bromby in the second final clash of these titans this season, the pair met in the final of the Tony DeSilva Memorial Cup in March, with Steven Bremar winning that match 3-1.

Despite an epic battle which saw a 20 break from Bromby on what is a notoriously tight table and some very close finishes, Bremar prevailed taking his 2nd major crown of the season with a victory over Bromby by 3 – 1.

Bermuda Open Doubles Final

The 2018/19 season came to a close with doubles team Paul Fedden and Tyler Moniz defeating former champions Mike Zimmerman and Karl Wilson by 3-0 to take the title of Bermuda Open Doubles Champions. Moniz, a previous doubles and singles winner, said he was delighted with the win.

High Break

This season’s high break went to Sandys Boat Club’s Peter Bromby for the 2nd consecutive year, this time with 34.

League Stats

The player finishing top of the statistics table this year was Sandys Boat Club’s Paul Fedden with 19 wins and 3 losses at 86%.
