KPMG Named A Leader In Global Cyber Security
KPMG has been named by Forrester Research as a leader among global cyber security consulting providers, also receiving one of the highest scores of any vendor evaluated in the `Current Offering’ category.
“KPMG stands out with clear, concise, executive level engagement abilities,” wrote the report’s authors in The Forrester WaveTM: Global Cybersecurity Consulting Providers, Q2 2019. The report also noted how KPMG’s “executive engagement … helps security leaders understand the next crisis, not just the current one.”
KPMG received the highest possible scores in the criteria of business acumen; security strategy consulting capabilities; and governance, risk & compliance capabilities.
According to the report, KPMG consistently advances three messages: “1] Cyber security helps businesses grow; 2] Cyber security problems now require multidisciplinary expertise; and 3] Cyber security protects core business functions.” The report continues that “KPMG doesn’t just say those things in its marketing; it infuses those themes into its cyber security services portfolio.”
“Cyber security remains top of mind for leaders right across the globe and in all sectors, and right here in Bermuda,” said Charles Thresh, Managing Director, Head of Advisory.
“KPMG has invested in existing cyber resources, including recruiting top talent and making significant investments through acquisitions to expand our global capabilities and be where clients need us, whether it is on island or elsewhere.”
“Cyber attacks and data leakage are daily threats to organisations; a reminder that we are all potential targets of this type of threat,” said Chris Eaton, Director, Advisory.
“Investors, regulators and consumers are all challenging boards on their oversight of cyber security, and calling for even greater transparency around major breaches and the impact they have on their stakeholders.”
A spokesperson said, “Over the last 18 months, KPMG has made a number of cyber acquisitions globally, including Loomans & Matz, a consulting services firm in Germany focused on information security and data protection; EGYDE Cybersecurity, a Canada-based firm focused on cloud security and data governance; and Cyberinc, an Identity and Access Management business based in the US.
“In Bermuda, our locally based team has deep experience and industry knowledge, and are an integral and connected part of KPMG’s cyber security network. Leveraging our Cyber Maturity Assessment [CMA], we can provide an in-depth risk assessment of your organisation’s ability to protect business information and assets, and your preparedness against cyber attacks.”
Mr Eaton added, “Our CMA methodology is unique in the market in that it goes beyond pure technical preparedness. It takes a rounded view of people, process and technology so that your organisation can understand its vulnerability when it comes to identifying and prioritizing remediation – and as we like to look at it, turn information risk into business advantage.”
