Cricket: Bermuda Win ICC Americas Opener
[Updated with videos] The Bermuda cricket team made an excellent showing as they opened the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Americas competition today [Aug 18] with a win over the United States, defeating them by 6 runs at the White Hill Field.
Bermuda won the toss and elected to bat, with Delray Rawlins leading the way with a knock of 63 off 53 deliveries, hitting 6 fours and 3 sixes, while Okera Bascome added 21 and Onias Bascome scored 20, Cameron Gannon was the pick of the United States of America bowlers with figures of 4-0-21-2.
In reply, the United States fell six runs short of their mark as they only managed 135/7, Aaron Jones was the top scorer with 39, while Jaskaran Malhotra added 38, George O’Brien Jr. was the pick of the Bermuda bowlers with figures of 4-1-14-2.
Final Score: Bermuda 141/7 United States of America 135/7
