Inline Ball Hockey: Spitfires Defeat Rockets

The Windsor Spitfires and Strathroy Rockets recently competed in game two of the Bermuda Inline Ball Hockey Playoffs at the PCC Hockey Rink.

The match saw the Windsor Spitfires claim the title; leading 1 – 0 after a victory in game one, the Spitfires went toe-to-toe with the Strathroy Rockets and the teams shared a nine goal thriller.

At the end of the first period, the Windsor Spitfires led 3 – 1. They got single strikes off the sticks of Jacob Notermann, Chris Grantier and Matt Benson, while Brandin Willett scored for the Strathroy Rockets.

The Windsor Spitfires outscored the Strathroy Rockets 2 – 1 in the second period to lead 5 – 2. Benson completed his hat trick with two goals in the period for the Windsor Spitfires, while Willett added his second goal of the game for the Strathroy Rockets.

The Strathroy Rockets pulled within one in the third period, getting goals off the sticks of Jeffrey Ingelman and Mark Heintzman, but could not find the equalizer to draw level.
