KFC Halloween Treat Voucher Campaign

October 1, 2019

For the fifth consecutive year, KFC Bermuda is holding a Halloween treat voucher campaign, with this year’s endeavor to support Knowledge Quest.

A spokesperson said, “In the first two years of this popular initiative, KFC was pleased to support its long-time community partner, the Bermuda Red Cross, and for the past two years, KFC was proud to team up with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bermuda.

“This year, KFC is delighted to announce that Knowledge Quest will be the local charity selected to receive all the proceeds from the 2019 treat voucher campaign. Knowledge Quest has provided approximately 220 college and university scholarships to Bermudians of limited financial means since its formation in 2002.

“Knowledge Quest is a fully volunteer-operated charity with 100% of every dollar raised by Knowledge Quest going toward scholarship grants. This efficient and effective approach to serving the community is consistent with KFC’s annual treat voucher campaign, where 100% of every dollar paid for KFC treat vouchers is donated to the campaign’s designated charity for use in the Bermuda community.

“Customers can purchase a booklet of five treat vouchers for only $2 throughout the month of October [while supplies last]. Individual vouchers can be distributed at the door on Halloween, to classrooms, to sports teams or to any individual children.

“From November 1st, 2019 to January 31st, 2020, children aged 12 and younger can redeem a voucher for their choice of one free order of French fries, one free apple turnover or one free chocolate chip cookie.”

Cynthia Cox, Director at Knowledge Quest, said, “We are delighted that KFC has decided to partner with us in this year’s Halloween fundraising initiative. We truly value the opportunity to get our message out to Bermuda’s youth early; that there are needs-based scholarships available to those who do well in high school.

“Our goal is to help provide education to those who need it most.

“We know how exciting Halloween is for our young ones, and to be included in an initiative that will help benefit our organization, is a wonderful opportunity.”

Ginene Haslam, General Manager of KFC, said, “As we kick off our fifth consecutive Halloween campaign, we are pleased to partner with Knowledge Quest. Through our broad and diverse customer base, I am sure that we can help build public awareness of Knowledge Quest and its financial assistance to students in need of scholarships.

“Every dollar we raise will go directly to them.”

The spokesperson said, “These vouchers are great alternative to candy for Trick or Treaters. They can even be used as classroom or home rewards. Come get your vouchers today, since there is only a limited quantity available.”
