RA: Timetable To Accept New ICOL Applications
The Regulatory Authority of Bermuda [RA] has announced that the window for interested parties to submit their application for a licence to provide electronic communication [EC] services in Bermuda will take place from January 27, 2020 to February 28, 2020.
A spokesperson said, “Based on its analysis and feedback from public consultation, the RA has established a robust framework for new entrants to the EC sector to apply for Integrated Communication Operation Licences [ICOLs] after the moratorium on the granting of the licence was lifted by Minister of Home Affairs Walter Roban earlier this year.”
Denton Williams, Chief Executive of the RA, said, “Consumers will benefit from new entrants to the marketplace, as increased competition typically leads to lower prices, greater product variety and higher product quality.”
The spokesperson said, “Interested parties are asked to submit their applications to the RA at licence@ra.bm between January 27, 2020 and February 28, 2020.”
