Conyers Hires New Associates And Trainees

Conyers has welcomed six new associates to its Bermuda office in the last three months; Jessica Harris, Alexis Haynes and Karoline Tauschke have joined the Corporate practice, Britt Smith and Michele Gavin-Rizzuto have joined the Litigation practice, and Oliver Goodwin joined the Real Estate and Property practice.

Jessica Harris is a corporate attorney with experience in dispute resolution, insurance, regulatory compliance, insolvency and restructuring, solvent liquidations, employment law and intellectual property.

She joins the firm from Appleby [Bermuda] Limited. Ms. Harris is a Bermudian who obtained her LLB at University of Birmingham and her Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from BBP Law School in London.

Alexis Haynes is a corporate attorney with experience in banking and financial transactions, corporate finance, technology and innovation matters, corporate governance and regulatory and compliance matters. She also joins the firm from Appleby [Bermuda] Limited.

Ms. Haynes is a Bermudian with a Masters in International Legal Practice [LLM] from University of Law, London, and an Executive Master of Laws in Asset Management Practice, Compliance & Regulation from the College of Regulatory Compliance.

Karoline Tauschke is a corporate attorney with practice experience in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate finance transactions and general corporate advice. She formerly worked in the London office of Greenberg Traurig LLP. Ms. Tauschke earned her legal qualifications from BPP Law School, London.

Britt Smith is a litigator with experience in restructuring and insolvency, and general commercial disputes. Prior to joining Conyers, she worked for Ogier in the Cayman Islands and Baker McKenzie in Sydney, Australia. Ms. Smith earned her legal qualifications from University of New South Wales, and Australian National University, acquired her Juris Doctor. She also has specialist accreditation in insolvency law.

Michele Gavin-Rizzuto is a barrister specialising in commercial and property law. He previously worked at Lamb Chambers in London. Mr. Gavin-Rizzuto obtained his LLM from University of Cambridge and completed his BPTC at Kaplan Law School.

Oliver Goodwin specialises in real estate law, advising on the acquisition, financing, disposal, leasing and development of hotel, retail, commercial and residential property. He joins the firm from Gunnercooke LLP in the UK, and previously worked in the Cayman Islands and London. Mr. Goodwin gained his legal qualifications from BPP Law School, London.

Conyers has also taken on three trainees this year: Hailey Edwards, Aleisha Hollis and Amber Wilson. They are all Bermudians who have recently graduated from law school in the UK.
