US Coast Guard Cutter Vigorous Visits Hamilton
The 210-foot United States Coast Guard Cutter [USCGC] Vigorous was today [Nov 10] berthed at the Hamilton Harbour dock on Front Street.
The Coast Guard website says that the USCGC Vigorous is, “Homeported in Virginia Beach, VA at Joint Expeditinary Base Little Creek-Fort Story [JEBLC]. VIGOROUS generally deploys 185 days a year to a variety of operating areas extending from the Gulf of Maine to the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico.
“Our primary mission areas include Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, Search and Rescue, Alien Migrant and Environmental Protection. An average patrol length is 45-60 days.”
