Causeway Collision Results In Injuries
[Updated] Emergency services responded to a collision tonight [Dec 26] on the Causeway which resulted in injured persons being transported by ambulance to King Edward Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Bystanders indicated it appeared a car and motorcycle may have been involved. Traffic was blocked in both directions which caused long lines and people walking across the Causeway with luggage in hand, heading to the airport. Further details are limited at this time, however we will update as able.

When is the government going to add a second access into St.Georges for this very issue. This is the second time in not to long that holds up visitors and locals alike trying to make it to the airport. All fine and good having a brand new airport but if you can access it it will be an even larger issue.
You’re forgetting the fact that the country is broke. You’re asking for a second bridge when we don’t even know how we’re going to pay for the replacement for the causeway bridge and long bird.
It would be easier to get the police to change their procedures to allow for the clearing of at least one lane of traffic if an accident involves a main thoroughfare. I agree that it is ridiculous that traffic has to stop because one idiot decided he was going to try to “make de nip”.
Access is not the problem. It is the drivers/motorcyclists breaking the road safety laws.
Access IS the problem! No one has 40 mins to walk to / from Bulls Head or can not afford hiked parking rates in town! It adds cost to buying in Hamilton- full stop!
If we have parking lots then comp parking for 1 hour to encourage use and reduce cost to retail consumers!
You people at COH need to stop nickle and diming consumers and stop wasting our valuable time with satellite parking unless you are going to provide a monorail to downtown shopping area!
Building a second bridge would be onerously expensive without tolls to support it. Are you ok with introducing a toll system to pay for it? I think not!
They can’t afford it. All that money we used to have was frittered away.
Yet still they get voted in.
Told them what to do 15 years ago and no one took heed because they did not get a cut.
The new airport and bridge from Coney Island to where the airport round-a-bout is could have been done for 20 million incorporated.
Money, greed, who gives a sheet.
Washed away will have a new meaning in a few years.
