Video: BSSF School All Star Netball Games
The BSSF All Star Netball Games were held at Bermuda College, with some of the island’s top young netballers in action.
Middle School Game – East 17 West 10
The East led from start to finish in the middle school match with a 17-10 victory. Dellwood’s Jaelyn Rewan-Lambert led the East with 6 goals. Schoolmate Amayah Smith-Burt added 5 while Whitney’s Sanna Berkley and Mitayah Richardson added 4 and 2 respectively. Warwick Academy shooters accounted for all of the scoring. Imara Richardson scored 6 with Adriana Argent added 4. Berkley was named MVP for the East while Sandys Anisa Seon was named MVP for the West.
Primary School – West 10 East 6
A five goal fourth quarter pushed the West past the East in the primary school match. The West trailed 5-4 at the end of the third quarter before Saltus’ Erin Alfrey scored three of her four goals to lead the west to victory. BHS’ Kate O’Keefe and Somers Estwanik scored two each as did Kree Holdipp from Somerset Primary. The East were led by Akiera Christopher-Weldon from Prospect Primary led the East with 3 goals. Northland’s shooters Zeni Hansey scored one and Malaysia Furbert added two. West Pembroke Primary’s Jaylah Michele Ible was named MVP for the west while A’Meerah Outerbridge from Northlands was named MVP for the East.
Senior Girls – Blue Team 27 Red Team 23
The blue team held off a late rally from the red team to win the senior school game 27-23. The blue team led 25-23 with two minutes left on the clock with the red team threatening to score again before losing possession and allowing two late goals to seal the match. Nisaiah Berkley from BHS earned her MVP award after scoring 23 on the blue teams goals despite being held to two goals in the fourth quarter thanks to the defense of schoolmate Maya Crockwell who won MVP for the red team for her defensive efforts. The Berkeley Institute’s Selah Tuzo scored the other four goals for the blue team. Berkekey’s Nabiilah Nasir led the red team with 18 goals with sister Kaamilah scoring three. Kemiyah Butterfield from Warwick Academy rounded out the scoring with two goals.
